Join us for an exciting ride around the welcome islands on the Superior Rocket. With 500 horsepower, the Superior Rocket can reach speeds of 100 km/h in open waters. Tight turns, wind, and waves make for an unforgettable thrill ride!  Get an up-close view of the three picturesque islands known as the Welcome Islands. Only a short distance from the City, these Islands boast tall cliffs composed of sedimentary rock, a sheltered anchorage nestled within their cover, and an abundance of winged wildlife. Spot the Welcome Island Light House and the “Robert Fryer” shipwreck! This is the perfect trip to get a quick taste of the Superior Rocket.

Activity Breakdown

Mobility for getting on and off the vessel at the dock and hanging on in the jockey seats. Sorry, but we are unable to accommodate children under eight (8) years of age or under 4’6″. Pregnant woman, people with neck/back injuries, are advised not to take this tour.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: We recommend you bring a

  • Cap
  • Windbreaker (winds on the shores of Lake Superior lower the temperature by 5 degrees)
  • Camera
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle but we also provide water
  • Please bring soft tread footwear only, no hard soles.
    • ie. running shoes

Q: Is being a passenger a difficult task?

A: Absolutely not! Our excellent captains will make sure you have an easy trip. However, some of our trips require some physical activity on your end to keep your trip enjoyable and this will be listed under activity level.

 

Q: Should I bring food?

A: On the very short trips we don’t recommend food as the trip is too thrilling for food.

For our day trips, we definitely recommend bringing food if it is not catered

 

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: All reservations cancelled at least two full weeks prior to the scheduled trip date are refunded 85% of fare (15% administration fee). If a reservation is cancelled within two weeks of scheduled trip date, there is NO REFUND.

If WE cancel a trip due to weather or any other conditions, you will receive a FULL REFUND of all fares. Once a charter begins there will be no refunds unless due to the inability of Sail Superior to continue the reserved charter.

Safety is paramount to everything we do. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, we know what we’re doing, and we have thorough procedures in place to ensure your well-being.

 

Our boats are outfitted with safety equipment meeting or exceeding Transport Canada and Industry Standards and our captains and crew are expertly trained.

 

If you are participating in a Big Lake Adventure tell your crew if you have high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy, broken or fractured bones/dislocations, fragile skin, neurological disorders, diabetes, asthma, prosthetics, panic/anxiety attacks or any recent sprains/muscular injuries.

 

To maintain our high standards of safety, children must be at least 142 cm (4’6″) tall for our zodiac tours. Zodiac trips are not suitable for pregnant women or those with serious back and neck problems. Please let us know of any such conditions at the time of booking and we can recommend a more suitable option.

 

Tour Restrictions

We are unable to accommodate children under eight (8) years of age or under 4’6″. Sail Superior does not recommend Zodiac travel for expectant mothers, people in frail health, or those with neck or back concerns.
