Folklore Festival: May 5th and 6th

The Thunder Bay Multicultural Association will be hosting the 45th annual Folklore Festival. Take a trip around the world in 48 hours. There will be international food and drink, cultural music, dance, and much more. The Folklore Festival is a fun and unique celebration. Don’t miss it!

Kite Festival: June 3rd

Thunder Bay’s Kite Festival has been held annually since 1981. Along with kite workshops, demonstrations and activities, you will experience the flying skills of kite experts from renowned Kite Clubs. People of all ages will be impressed and inspired by their spectacular demonstrations of colourful high-flying kites. Don’t miss this award-winning day of fun, colour, and amazement! On the ‘Top 100 Ontario Festivals’ list.

Canada Day on the Waterfront: July 1st

Celebrate CANADA Day on the Waterfront! Canada Day on the Waterfront is Thunder Bay’s biggest annual one-day event. Programming runs from 5 – 11 pm. Enjoy the area’s biggest fireworks display.

Get the best view of the fireworks in the city from the water with Sail Superior. It’s dark, boats drifting in the distance, the historic Thunder Bay Main lighthouse at your back, dusk has fallen over the city – BOOM! Fireworks light up the sky. Get out your cameras! Festival of India: July 21st

Festival of India The annual Krishna Culture Festival of India is celebrated across many cities in North America. The mission of Festival of India is to provide traditional and classical Indian entertainment including Bharat Natyam and Odissi dance, Kirtans and Bhajans with Sitar, Saraj, Tamboura, Tablas, Mridanga, Harmonium and Kartals, as well as theater based on great ancient histories like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Over one hundred attractively designed panel displays report and depict little-known information on topics such as Reincarnation, Vegetarianism, Ancient and Modern Science, and Vedic Histories. A veritable gallery of illustrative artwork, sculpture, and photographic reproductions complete Festival of India’s illuminating image to the public eye. Returning to Thunder Bay yearly, the Festival of India has won approval from students, professors, professionals, authors, and celebrities and has been enjoyed by people from all walks of life. Festival of India offers a wealth of opportunities for everyone.

Bay & Algoma Buskers Festival: July 28th – 29th

 

 

The Bay and Algoma Neighborhood is excited to announce the sixth annual Bay and Algoma Buskers Festival. Featuring over 40 performers rotating through 10 performance pitches located on Upper Bay Street and Algoma, this year’s festival has familiar favourites as well as some new surprises. The festival draws in more than 5,000 attendees over two days of closed street celebrations and is again partnering with the DefSup Die Active Y’ART Sale to create an arts filled urban landscape.
