Thunder Bay is known for its beautiful scenery and lakeside views, but are you taking full advantage of it?

Enjoy a catered lunch on Lake Superior. We will take you for a gentle sail around the harbour while you enjoy your lunch. Come with friends or a coworker, or by yourself. Either way it will be a memorable event.

Included is a selection from our preset menu, a choice of vegetarian or non vegetarian from either the Bight Restaurant or Delta Hotels by Marriott Thunder Bay. Wine, beer and non alcoholic beverages available on-board from our cash bar.

Policy

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: We recommend you bring a

  • Cap
  • Windbreaker (winds on the shores of Lake Superior lower the temperature by 5 degrees)
  • Camera
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Please bring soft tread footwear only, no hard soles.
    • ie. running shoes

A: At the end of pier 3 – slip 12 & 13 at the marina park. You can find a map at the bottom of our page.

A: We answer our phones from 10am – 8pm. Give us a call.

Q: Is being a passenger a difficult task?

A: Absolutely not! Our excellent captains will make sure you have an easy trip. However, some of our trips require some physical activity on your end. This will be listed under activity level.

 

Q: Should I bring food?

A: On the very short trips we don’t recommend food as the trip is too thrilling for food.

For our day trips, we definitely recommend bringing food if it is not catered

 

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: All reservations cancelled at least two full weeks prior to the scheduled trip date are refunded 85% of fare (15% administration fee). If a reservation is cancelled within two weeks of scheduled trip date, there is NO REFUND.

If WE cancel a trip due to weather or any other conditions, you will receive a FULL REFUND of all fares. Once a charter begins there will be no refunds unless due to the inability of Sail Superior to continue the reserved charter.

Q: Can I tip my Captain?

A: Yes. Our Captains work hard to deliver a fun, memorable and safe experience. If you would like to tip them they will kindly accept and appreciate it.

 

Safety is paramount to everything we do. With over 15 years experience in the industry, we know what we’re doing, and we have thorough procedures in place to ensure your well-being.

 

Our boats are outfitted with safety equipment meeting or exceeding Transport Canada and Industry Standards and our captains and crew are expertly trained.

 

If you are participating in a Big Lake Adventure tell your crew if you have high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy, broken or fractured bones/dislocations, fragile skin, neurological disorders, diabetes, asthma, prosthetics, panic/anxiety attacks or any recent sprains/muscular injuries.

 

To maintain our high standards of safety, we ask that there be a one-to-one child-adult ratio for children under 8 (can be supervised by a sibling 15 yrs or older). There is no charge for children 2 years and under but they do count towards our maximum passenger limit, so please inform us if you are bringing an infant so we can adjust our reservations accordingly.
