Sleep with the Giant

No one should visit Thunder Bay with out taking in the sights of the famed Sleeping Giant, Thunder Bay's most iconic landmark. And no one should visit Thunder Bay without taking a sail on Lake Superior. And no one should visit Thunder Bay without tasting some of our gastronomic delights.

Here is the answer to all that in one adventure. Take a catamaran sailing trip to the Giant, hike, take a dip,  dine aboard, or maybe ashore by campfire, enjoy the sunset and a gentle sleep aboard "WELCOME" wake to the smell of wonderful breakfast, and prepare to sail back to Thunder Bay. One day 24 hours and you've completed three items on your Thunder Bay bucket list.

Or if you don't need the large catamaran, book Frodo our 40 ft monohull sailboat. Sail out, hike, take a dip,  dine aboard, enjoy the sunset and a gentle sleep aboard "FRODO" wake to the smell of wonderful breakfast, and prepare to sail back to Thunder Bay. One day, 24 hours and you've completed three items on your Thunder Bay bucket list.

  • What's The Difference?

FRODO is a traditional mono hulled sailboat made for crossing an ocean. Space is limited, though well appointed, cabins are small and the bed is a combination of a twin size and a single, and a salon settee. Great for sailing and adventure  but not a luxury class with regards to space and amenities.

WELCOME is a full sized luxury catamaran with huge deck areas for lounging and gathering. The salon and galley combination are large enough to seat eight for dinner and there is still more room in the aft cockpit area for another dinner spread. There is a covered flybridge for viewing and lounging. Then there is the front rumble seat gathering area and even larger trampoline netting area for sun worshipers. The four cabins all have a queen size bed, and each cabin has its own head (toilet) and shower. The attached tender for shore access can be used for exploration or perhaps some fishing.
