Join us for an exciting ride around the Welcome Islands on the Superior Rocket. For a more relaxed ride ask us to show your the Kaministiqua river.

Due to  COVID-19, we are pleased to offer small private group bookings for all of our tours.   • Departure times: Hourly at your convenience.
  • NOTICE: Waves on lake Superior can make this a rough trip. If you have small children or recent back neck injuries or if you are pregnant. let us know. We will adjust the speed and destination to keep you safe and comfortable. We can take you inland up the Kaministiqua river. Smooth yet very scenic.

Safety is paramount to everything we do. With over 15 years experience in the industry, we know what we’re doing, and we have thorough procedures in place to ensure your well-being.

Our boats are outfitted with safety equipment meeting or exceeding Transport Canada and Industry Standards and our captains and crew are expertly trained.

If you are participating in a Big Lake Adventure tell the crew of Sail Superior if you have high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy, broken or fractured bones/dislocations, fragile skin, neurological disorders, diabetes, asthma, prosthetics, panic/anxiety attacks or any recent sprains/muscular injuries.

To maintain our high standards of safety, we ask that there be a one-to-one child-adult ratio for children under 8 (can be supervised by a sibling 15 yrs or older).

There is no charge for children 2 years and under but they do count towards our maximum passenger limit, so please inform us if you are bringing an infant so we can adjust our reservations accordingly.

We recommend you bring a

  • Cap
  • Windbreaker (winds on the shores of Lake Superior lower the temperature by 5 degrees)
  • Camera
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Please bring soft tread footwear only, no hard soles.
    • ie. running shoes

Absolutely not! Our excellent captains will make sure you have an easy trip.

However, some of our trips require some physical activity on your end to keep your trip enjoyable and this will be listed under activity level.

On the very short trips we don’t recommend food as the trip is too thrilling for food.

For our day trips, we definitely recommend bringing food if it is not catered.

US$, CDN$, VISA, MC, Discover and Amex accepted on board.

Please note that specialty tours like the wine and cheese tour have cut off times for bookings, so please book and pay for your tour in advance online to avoid disappointment!

Walk-ons are only accepted if boat capacity is available, which can be best guaranteed by booking in advance.

All reservations cancelled at least two full weeks prior to the scheduled trip date are refunded 85% of fare (15% administration fee).

If a reservation is cancelled within two weeks of scheduled trip date, there is NO REFUND.

If WE cancel a trip due to weather or any other conditions, you will receive a FULL REFUND of all fares. Once a charter begins there will be no refunds unless due to the inability of Sail Superior to continue the reserved charter.

Yes. Our Captains work hard to deliver a fun, memorable and safe experience. If you would like to tip them they will kindly accept and appreciate it.
